Abstract:
Shareholder engagement is a growing socially responsible investment strategy. It consists of shareholders asking companies in which they hold a portion of the share capital to improve their environmental, social and governance practices. Based on a panel of semi-structured interviews with stakeholders in the ecosystem surrounding companies listed on the French market, this article highlights the motivations and obstacles to this strategy.
