Abstract: The French export-credit system (mechanisms, foreign-currency credits, mixed credits), its cost to the public budget, the distortions introduced by subsidised export credits within manufacturing industry. The French export-insurance system (COFACE): costs of export insurance; co-insurance; export-credit subsidies and risk exposure. Conclusion: inefficiency of the system with respect to its goals
