Abstract: The aim of this research is to understand management controlling in the creative industries which are affected by the uncertainty and time constraint of creation. We highlight how organizational actors of digital film companies manage the high uncertainty and time constraints of their projects. To that end, we conduct a case study of an organization in the digital film sector. Our results point out that management controlling of a creative organization is structured around two main lines: the first one related to the monitoring of the creative process under time constraint, the second one related to the preservation of artistic issues which originates the uncertainty of the creative object. Finally, we show that management control systems in creative organizations combine both temporal and artistic dimensions.
