Abstract: This research focuses on the question of resistance to educational innovation. Based on a qualitative study in a public institution of higher education, we studied the factors of resistance of learners to a Business Simulation Game. By mobilizing the theoretical framework of resistance to innovation, we identified three categories of factors of resistance to a BSG: (1) factors related to the functionalities of BSG; (2) factors related to the context of use; and (3) factors related to learners' characteristics. In addition, our results highlight six forms of resistance that correspond to three dualities (individual resistance vs. collective resistance; situational resistance vs. dispositional resistance; passive resistance vs. active resistance).
