Abstract: In this article, through the case study of the Aquitaine forest-wood-paper filière, we emphasize the need for integrating a stronger consideration of natural resources in the analysis in terms of innovation systems. Based on the main specificity of this sector, i.e. its important dependence on the wood resource, the present article focuses on how this dependence configures the system. We illustrate our idea by the qualitative analysis of 3 eco-innovation projects representing the Aquitaine wood filière, and carried out under the aegis of the Xylofutur competitiveness cluster.
