Abstract:
This communication presents a conceptual framework and some innovative methods for agricultural production cost estimation. Based on previous works in this field (Desbois, 2006; Desbois, Butault and Surry, 2013), the first part provides a conceptual framework oriented towards the micro-economic analysis of agricultural production (Desbois, 2015). On the ground of more recently published papers (Desbois, Butault and Surry, 2017; Desbois, 2021), the second part details the empirical data model, some of the various regression and data analysis approaches that have been used. The third part tries to establish a guideline for comparative analysis of the econometric results obtained for European member states and regions, based on the concept of input specific productivity which makes sense in the design agricultural public policies coping with environmental constraints.
