Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to interpret Keynes' statement that he wanted to undermine the Ricardian foundations of Marxism with his General Theory. We will explore two lines of thought, one theoretical and the other more pragmatic: on the one hand, he proposes a theory of involuntary unemployment elaborated within a framework of monetary economics, by eliminating any reference to the theory of value and its nomenclature hypothesis ; on the other hand, he puts forward an explanation of unemployment based on the insufficiency of anticipated demand, which allows him to provide a scientific foundation for his economic policy project that is in direct opposition to Marx's vision of it.
