Abstract:
To everyone's astonishment, Senator Lana Tetuanui, on 8 August 2022, tabled a bill in the Senate calling for the abolition of the remoteness allowance paid to state employees posted to French Polynesia. Can this initiative, whose stated ambition is to promote local employment, really achieve the desired goal?
