Abstract: Agri-food processing activities can be highly innovative and require resources that SMEs do not always have. Can they count on their ecosystem to support them? Not always, according to the study of three Quebec SMEs located in rural areas, where the shortcomings of their ecosystem require entrepreneurs to demonstrate creativity, perseverance and learning skills.
