Abstract: Research dealing with the influence of feedback on a mobile self-tracking application on behaviours has mainly focused on applications with a personal dimension, measuring health, sport or food parameters. However, in the context of climate change, the environmental dimension may also be subject to personal data measurement. Furthermore, research suggests that this phenomenon can be understood through the feeling of self-efficacy, as this concept constitutes an antecedent of behaviour. Indeed, informational feedback on a self-tracking application is an antecedent of the feeling of self-efficacy but does the "social or personal" dimension influence this feeling? This exploratory research, based on semi-structured interviews, highlights the importance of this dimension in individuals' belief in their ability to reduce their carbon footprint through feedback on an application.
