Abstract: This article examines the topic of relevance in management research. Whether research and managerial practice are considered as domains interdependent, the reality shows the persistence of a significant discrepancy between the two worlds. Calls to converge concerns do not dissipate this observation. Our reflection suggests a reinterpretation of the role played by disciplinary research in relation to practitioners. The implications for the management knowledge process will be discussed.
