Des « modèles de développement » aux « mondes du développement »: une enquête statistique

François Combarnous, Alain Piveteau and Eric Rougier

Post-Print from HAL

Abstract: This paper confronts prescriptive models of development, as derived from the genetic analysis of eight decades of advice or injunctions legitimized by mainstream economic theory in each period, with the "worlds of development" observed in the late 2010s. By projecting developing countries into the galaxy of different prescriptive models of development, we show that while several worlds have managed to achieve certain targets (social sustainability or the institution of the market), no world today is really equipped to orient itself in the common world that the new climate regime and environmental issues are designing.
