Abstract: Pourquoi a-t-on privilégié les hommes plutôt que les femmes en matière d'héritage tout au long du Moyen-Âge ? Èric Roca Fernández montre, grâce à une simulation mathématique, que l'avantage systématique donné aux hommes en matière d'héritage a participé à la transformation des fiefs féodaux européens en États modernes.
