Abstract:
This survey presents the evolution of the theoretical concept of beta growth convergence and of the main empirical results associated with these concepts. After a rapid description of the fundamental beta convergence model, we list the main empirical models that have been derived from this theoretical framework and the associated empirical issues. We then try to give a complete overview of the main econometric results found in the literature.
