Abstract:
In the same way as the Internet was for the end of the 20th century, blockchain seems to be a major innovation of the 21st century. Blockchain technology is helping to support supply chain management approaches and in particular collaborative practices. However, the latter are crossed by conflicting relationships that are sources of risk and require the implementation of control and incentive mechanisms. In this context, this paper aims at answering the following question by mobilizing the agency theory as an analysis grid: How to create blockchain solutions that allow to reduce the necessary level of trust and increase the transparency of information within supply chains? To do so, we rely on an action research conducted with a River Network Manager (RNM).
