Abstract:
The teaching profession be destined to undergo a radical rethink ? In a context where this profession is being taken in hand by transformations accelerated during the health crisis, we have deliberately chosen four countries four countries: Argentina, Brazil, France and Mexico. France and Mexico. Each of these countries bases its education policy on different levers. different levers, but in all four cases, these approaches are reflected in concrete are reflected in indicators of the attractiveness of the profession at entry level in Argentina and France, or rather positive ones in Brazil and Mexico, with easier and Mexico, in terms of easy access to stable employment. This latter trend does not, however, counteract the gradual disengagement of teachers throughout their careers. The contradictory demands made of the profession, the gradual change in the historical references that legitimise it and the rise of new decision-makers are paving the way for the taboos to be lifted and for the profession to break up.
