Abstract: This article aims to assess the level of integration of care in a rural area. Although integration of care is a concept that is increasingly used, its operationality remains largely undocumented. Based on the RMIC model, we study the way in which the care of heart failure patients in the Haut Cantal is approached. Our exploratory study is based on semi-directive interviews with general practitioners and specialists (cardiologists) in order to identify the reality of the integration of care at the meso and micro levels of the territory by questioning their perceptions and practices. This study is the first stage of a research project on the integration and territorial coordination of care. Our research sheds light on an important conceptual issue, that of the operationality of the RMIC, and allows us to identify the first elements of its manifestations.
