Abstract: Retex (or "retour d'expérience") is a system used in the military and business worlds for the continuous improvement of operations. This forward-looking approach, based on learning from direct experience in the field, has reached its limits in an increasingly uncertain and changing environment. It needs to be revised to move away from a risk-management-oriented Retex to one that incorporates learning how to manage uncertainty.
