Abstract: This article looks into the financialization process in the field of development aid. Along with the requirements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) arises a new financial model aiming the leverage of private capitals and renewing the terms of aid supply. It contributes to the financialization of health aid by promulgating profitability as a new imperative in development projects. This phenomenon illustrates a wider movement of liberalization correlated with the rise in power of the ambiguous notion of global public good. The article offers a critical perspective of the use of blended finance by examining the risks and threats generated by it. It also explores two implicit dynamics of this financialization process: a gradual expansion of the commercial sector in the health systems of the South, and a policy that increasingly delegates the responsibility to the private sector regarding the public development aid supply
