Abstract: In the context of the COPING project (Covid pandemic institutional management), this article aims to study potential variations in the perceptions of hospitalized patients during the Covid-19 epidemic. To do so, a comparison between the confined and non-confined periods was conducted using the results of the e-Satis survey available in the four university hospital centers (CHU) in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (Hospices civils de Lyon, CHU Grenoble-Alpes, CHU de Saint-Étienne, CHU de Clermont-Ferrand). This work reveals that there are few significant differences between the periods, some statistically significant due to the study's power. Patients in these CHUs experienced a fairly similar experience throughout the period compared to the 'non-Covid-19' years. However, the 'Covid-19' period is marked by a contradiction. On one hand, there is an overall strengthening of the positive perception of the hospital and caregivers, reflected in the appreciation of material (more comfortable meals and rooms) and immaterial (care, reception) elements. On the other hand, the decrease in satisfaction regarding visits and the variations observed throughout the period raise questions about how categories of patients perceived these changes.
