Abstract: A primary governmental measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 was forced teleworking. Both managers and employees had to adjust their manner of interaction to reach their goals. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, this study examines the phenomenon of teleworking. The model was developed out of 11 interviews with managers from a French company. Following the Churchill paradigm, a new model was pre-tested using a convenience sample of 167 respondents. The final dataset was obtained from 202 participants from the same company as the interviewed managers. The findings demonstrate that contamination avoidance is not perceived as useful for telework adoption. The study highlights the importance of the technology acceptance model and the influence of working environment, work-life balance, personal innovativeness, and productivity. The analysis addresses the moderation effects of age, gender, family situation, function, and commute time. This study opens a discussion on the future of teleworking.
