Abstract:
The concept of divulgation, defined as the revelation of a secret, remains understudied in organization studies. Often confused with whistleblowing, it lacks a proper conceptualization. Moreover, the absence of a historical perspective limits the understanding of the social and political dynamics underlying it. Current literature is marked by parochialism, leading to categorial confusions, practical complications, and empirical blind spots. This research proposes to integrate divulgation into a historical approach to better grasp its role in the transformation of organizations and the public sphere, drawing on a literature review and the analysis of media discourse.
