Abstract: Banks in the Democratic Republic of Congo operate in a very competitive environment. This article seeks to identify the factors associated with the financial and economic profitability of the 10 Commercial Banks in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 2009 to 2019. The results show that financial profitability (ROE) is more important than economic profitability (ROA) and highlights highlight the existence of a very significant relationship between all the explanatory variables and the endogenous variables (ROE, ROA). It should be noted that there is a positive correlation between bank loans, bank deposits, asset size, solvency risk with bank profitability. While variables such as liquidity risk, inflation, capital have a negative impact on the profitability of banks.
