Abstract:
We compare two existing ecosystems of innovation in bioeconomy and genetics to identify their pros and cons. We imagine what could be transformed by a transformative role of the State and dominance of public purpose (Adler, Bodrožić, & Jermier, 2021) in orchestrating a "Green Deal" now, after four centuries of what Pierre Dockès (2021) called "the splendour and misery of growth".
