Abstract:
From the 16th to the 18th centuries, Savoie and Dauphiné belonged to separate political entities, except for a few periods when they were under the authority of the King of France. This contribution examines the relationships between these two provinces, so close yet so clearly distinct, over the long term and in a field where borders don't really matter: the economy.
