Abstract: Broadly, the research consists of mapping the knowledge base of firms in the AB industry through an analysis of their patents, and an econometric analysis to reveal the impact of the structure of these knowledge bases on the efficiency of firms. Our research question is the following: How do the exploration and exploitation dimensions of firm innovation strategies impact their production efficiency in the AB industry?
