Abstract: This article discusses the network of stakeholders that make up a port community. The authors focus on mapping the network of people and organizations that constitutes the port community, by mapping the Twitter accounts of the members of that community. The port of Haropa (Paris, France) is used as a case study, chosen both because it has recently launched a Smart Port project and it represents the merger of three previously separate ports. Topics include picturing the port community as a business network; using social media to picture the network; and the use of graph theory for the social media analysis. The authors conclude that their analysis shows an interesting and realistic picture of the port community. The study also demonstrates the influences of the members of the network on each other's communications. These findings support the potential use of business to business (B2B) communication through social media.
