Abstract: What does a business and employment cooperative (BEC) do? This simple question has no easy answer. We have tried to answer this question by analysing changes that have taken place in these cooperatives since their creation. Given the current situation and evolution at Coopaname, BEC based in Ile-de-France, we would suggest that we are now in a third generation of cooperatives: importance is given to the idea of sharing and true mutual protection of career paths.
