Abstract:
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) represents a natural evolution from sustainability principles to a comprehensive approach integrating environmental, social, and economic dimensions. This approach aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations, adapted to local contexts such as those in Martinique. CSR entails transparent and ethical governance practices that incorporate stakeholder expectations including employees, customers, and local communities. For small businesses (TPEs), adopting CSR practices provides tangible opportunities for differentiation, innovation, and addressing unique island-specific challenges. Starting with a straightforward diagnosis, setting realistic goals, and involving employees and partners allows local companies to reap multiple benefits: enhanced customer loyalty, improved reputation, financial savings, and talent attraction.
