Abstract: En 2011, le président turc Recep Tayyip Erdogan a annoncé la construction d'un nouveau canal contournant le Bosphore, qui reliera la Méditerranée à la mer Noire. La presse turque l'a qualifié de « projet fou » d'Erdogan. Cet article aborde le projet du canal d'Istanbul, ses paramètres, les enjeux environnementaux et juridiques, ainsi que les infrastructures qui seront construites autour du canal.
