Abstract:
After years of constant growth, and a historic record in 2021, the world organic banana trade saw its first downturn in 2022: the result of a fall in world production, structural problems taking root in certain producer countries and the effects of the demand crisis caused by the inflation which followed on from the pandemic and Russia's war against Ukraine. In 2023, the downward trend continued and intensified.
