Abstract:
This article aims to better understand the relationship between emotional competencies and the leader's style. To explore this dynamic, we mobilized Mikolajczak and her colleagues (2023) research on emotional competencies. Thus, our questions will focus on the role of leaders' emotional competencies in shaping their leadership style. How do leaders' emotional competencies contribute to shaping their leadership style? To answer our research question, we used a qualitative methodology. To this end, we conducted 50 semi-structured interviews with business leaders. Our findings propose an empirical definition of emotional leadership and underline three major facets of the emotional leaders. These results also allowed us to identify several key action levers for emotional leaders as they help to ensure that employees adhere to their vision.
