Abstract: Purpose: This paper outlines a theoretical model of culture based knowledge management in organizations, which is grounded in interpretation and critical analysis. It adds certain new dimensions to the social context of knowledge creation and sharing. Design/Methodology/Approach: Knowledge Management (KM) is primarily concerned with way knowledge in organizations. It is created, managed and leveraged to the advantage of the business enterprise. The paper examines the relationship of the KM with cultures of the organization and how it influences the processes of knowledge creation/innovation in this context, using critical insights and interpretation drawn from a comparative frame of studies on KM. Findings: The paper presents a culture based dynamic model of knowledge management (CBDM). It was found by critical and interpretative analysis of studies on KM, that a range of cultural and social processes affect the performance and attitudes of the knowledge workers in the organization. Originality/Value: The paper makes critical and interpretative insights into the cultural dynamics of knowledge creation in the organizations.
