Abstract: We theorize consumer experiences within home-based services and explore how customer services transform the home. Traditionally private and familial, the home is turned into a domestic servicescape. The nature of such spaces makes the consumer experience liminal and extimate. Our research contributes to theorizing consumer extimacy and the domestic servicescape.
