Abstract: This article explores the history of management and organization studies through the lens of emotions. Within a defined historical scope, we trace key trends, decisive turning points, and broader contextual elements shaping this field. Our analysis reveals several underlying tensions— between visibility and invisibility, rationality and emotionality, denial and acknowledgment. We conclude by outlining four promising avenues for future research, thus offering a potential roadmap for further inquiry.
