Abstract:
Traditionally, the entrepreneur is associated with an actor who participates in changing society through his entrepreneurial activity. However, this change does not mean that they wish to respond to current societal challenges. This article aims to identify the motivations for changing the world of tomorrow's entrepreneurs by studying the motivation of student entrepreneurs. An empirical study of 210 responses student entrepreneurs enrolled in entrepreneurship centres in French higher education reveals their motivations and the profiles of those who support a social and/or environmental cause. The article suggests ways of encouraging these student entrepreneurs to become involved in impact entrepreneurship.
