Abstract:
By leveraging the relational approach and based on a survey of 149 French SMEs, we examine the antecedents and effects of product co-development between exporters and importers. Our results indicate that the importer's role performance is the key determinant of new product co-development. Product co-development enhances the frequency of product introductions in the importer's market and ultimately improves the export performance of new products.
