Abstract:
This article presents the results of an online survey that examines the preferences of employees in Bulgaria for different work models (remote, hybrid, or in an office). The survey was conducted in February 2023 among 560 employees, primarily from the ICT sector (68%) and the financial sector (11%). The results also provide insights into the reasons underlying these choices. It is evident that employees working mainly remotely express a strong preference for continuing to do so, as they experience enhanced performance, improved work-life balance, greater flexibility, and increased autonomy when working from home, in contrast to their counterparts who work in a hybrid arrangement or exclusively in an office. Some of the factors contributing to these results include time savings, improved concentration at home, and reduced stress levels among remote workers.
