Abstract: International development aid projects remain the favourite and main mode of administration of international aid in developing countries. The complex environment in which they are carried out adds an additional difficulty to the management of these types of projects because the risk factors influencing the success are numerous. The purpose of this research is to determine the key success factors of international development aid projects in general, and of public development aid projects in particular. It relates more especially to the case of Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) within Agence Routière de Madagascar (ARM). The contribution of this thesis is to establish theoretical and practical proposals for improving the success of development aid projects in the context of African countries.
