Abstract:
The authors have been asked by the French Ministry of Transport, to develop a System Dynamics model which could help analyze the dynamics of the French freight transportation market (Road -Rail -River). A little later, the model was modified and used to analyze the possible consequences, on that same market, of the Kyoto proposed Emission credit policy. Both models are explained here, and main results are shown. In addition we explain how an « ex post » causal loop analysis can help, in this context, to have experts understand better the numerous and often contradictory simulation results.
