Abstract: A researcher's introduction to the "harness" metaphor: an AI assistant has great capability and no judgment, like the East Asian dragon of Vietnamese legend, a power of nature that must be ridden rather than fought. Introduces the Imperial Dragon Harness, a personal set of rules, skills and scripts that turns a general-purpose language model into a research assistant.
