Abstract: This article deals with outplacement in the metalworking industry, examining the mobilization and operation of outplacement units for employees laid off for economic reasons. An exploratory study in Normandy and Champagne-Ardenne analyzed the conditions for the success of these cells. The complexity of the situations and the diversity of the players involved make it difficult to understand these processes. The results underline the importance of a dynamic approach integrating territorial dimensions - cooperation between employment and company players - enabling HR teams and managers to work together to provide individualized support for each employee.
