Abstract: Second post of a series on AI assistants in the daily work of a researcher. The smallest harness that counts as one is a single AGENTS.md file at the root of the project folder, read by the agent before anything else, like the notice bolted inside an elevator cabin. The post gives a thirteen-line template whose rules ask for testable proof of verification, explains why such a file is a notice and not a lock, and ranks the instruments (rule, skill, script, hook) by the cost of a violation.
