Abstract: This section describes characteristics of the vehicle fleet across countries and world regions. The vehicle fleet includes personal use vehicles, commercial fleets (vans, trucks), and public transport vehicles (buses). Age, fuel type, and fuel efficiency are key factors in understanding and predicting the environmental damages of motorised vehicles. Our discussion is restricted to wheeled vehicles.
