Abstract: This paper presents G-Eau, a simulation tool to evaluate the evolution of urban water demand over time and space. It is founded on a hierarchical and analytical simulation economic model. The principal originality of the model is that water demand is evaluated according to three dimensions : economic sectors, time and space. Though existing simulation tools deal with the time dimension allowing the resolution of a model in different steps of time, they are not adapted for spatial analysis of simulation results. On the other hand, geographical information systems (GIS) can deal with this aspect, but they are limited in dealing with the time dimension. One way to treat both temporal and spatial dimensions consists of coupling a simulation tool with a GIS.
