Abstract:
This article analyzes the data of a survey sampling in the French island La reunion in order to explain the average over-consumption of the inhabitants with respect to that of metropolitan France. We find that low income familly can reduce their water consumption by increasing intramarginal prices through an income effect. Informatino campaign devoted to household leaving in a house in dry areas seems to be the second main policy to conduct.
