Abstract:
The questions approached on this text concern the classic monetary doctrine. J.-B. Say occupies an original place in the theoretical formulations of this time on three fundamental questions of the economic theory: 1) the nature of the currency, 2) the, quantitative theory 3) the role of the currency in the inflation and the crises. 1) The first presented thesis is that the value of the currency at J.-B. Say is not based on the production cost but on the offer and the demand of these particular goods. 2) The second door on its formulation of the quantitative theory.3) The third draft of the role of the currency in the crises. These three points had been already the object of developments and analyses detailed in our thesis supported in 1994. We tempt here a synthesis of the whole theoretical approach of J.-B. Say. The totality of the used materials dan the quotations of the publishing(editions) of the Treaty or of Suit Courts is pulled by our thesis. The accessible manuscripts did not modify this point of view. However when the correspondence will have been collected and the edition of the Treaty variorum realized, some people points will can and will doubtless be rediscutés.
