Abstract:
The current strategic orientation of many Public Accounting firms towards consultancy and support in the H.R. and pay area is about to transform thouroughly the role and the place occupied by the H.R., payroll and benefits assistant within the firm. Beyond the change implied in the internal organisation of firms, the developement of a wider range of services offered by firms requires a renewal of the staff concerned and a professionalization of the job.The aim of this article is to describe the work of H.R., payroll and benefits assistant, but mostly to introduce the stakes and the difficulties of their professionalization for public accounting firms whose strategy it is to develop their H.R area.
