Abstract: : The job competition between workers has important implications concerning "overeducation" and "crowding-out" of low-educated workers by high-educated workers. To account for these phenomena, I consider a matching model in which educated and uneducated workers compete for the skilled-jobs. An exogenous increase in the proportion of high-skilled workers increases the number of high-skilled workers on simple jobs. Another result of the paper is that education and experience become both necessary to reach skilled jobs.
