Abstract:
GPS Navigation and real time traffic information. A new benefit for cars in cities... for club members only! – The fast development of navigation and on-board mapping applications of GPS and soon Galileo offers valuable tools to help car users in cities. Indeed, these applications offer an efficient and accurate aid for navigation and orientation, and also include real time information about traffic and congestion, which allows the technology-loving car user to by-pass traffic jams and possibly save time. Here is a new digital fracture between those who have and master these navigation aid technologies and those who don't. It is also indirectly a way of giving a new space of promotion and development to car in cities, while public authorities rightfully champion a car-less city.----------------------------------------------With the author and the publisher of the copyright agreement.
